1. Where are you located?
West Coast Training has ONLY ONE location in Woodland, WASHINGTON, approximately 30 miles North of Portland, Oregon. All training is done on this 33 acre site.
2. What if I don't live in Washington?
West Coast Training can train students from all over the United States. There is a local housing list and many short term options for your temporary stay. We do provide job referral services for graduates all over the U.S. and the diplomas earned are honored nationwide.
3. What are the Admissions Requirements?
The minimum age is 16 1/2 years old. There is no maximum age for training. Every student must complete a Registration Form, provide Photo ID, a Social Security card, and Proof of High School Equivalency - or be able to pass an entrance exam. Payment or Authorization for payment is required on Start Day.
4. Do I need a driver's license to attend training?
Although we do require photo indentification, license is not required for training unless you are attending the Commercial Driver's License Programs. Please see the pre-requisites for this course. However, a driver's license is helpful in the industry overall.
5. Do you have financial aid?
WE DO NOT ACCEPT FAFSA funding (PELL GRANT, STAFFORD LOANS, etc). However, there may be State Funds or Grants, Private Scholarships, and Loans. Plase see the Financial Options page for more info.
6. When do classes start & How much does it cost?
West Coast Training offers construction industry training programs from 4 weeks to 24 weeks. All programs start each calendar month and the costs range accordingly. Please see our Program Option and 2011 Enrollment Schedules or 2012 Enrollment Schedules for answers specific to your needs.
7. Will you get me a job after training?
Although we do not GUARANTEE employment after training, we do want to see our graduates working in the industry. Each graduate will have the opportunity to receive job referral services, which includes a resume and weekly job leads. However, in this though economy, the provided job leads are only one portion of the job servies required. The graduate must play an active role in getting themselves to work and West Coast Training will do all we can to help with your career success.
